Softball Performance Centres

Overview

Softball Ontario is offering continuous LTPD aligned softball training at three (3) Regional Training to female and male softball players and their coaches in the Train2Train Stage (U14 and U16) and the Train2Compete Stage (U18). Softball Ontario’s Softball Performance Centres are expected to provide one (1) training pathway to the sport’s high performance system of skill development as delivered by Softball’s Team Ontario Staff, Developmental Coaches, and experts in the field of Strength/Conditioning Expert, Sport Psychology, Nutrition, Video Analysis (Dartfish), CANpitch, High Performance Athletes and Athletic Therapist. Ultimately, this training will prepare U14, U16 and U18 softball players (female and male) with one (1) pathway to meet the minimum fitness and skills training standards of the next development level for Softball - Team Ontario and Team Canada.

What Stages are offered?

Softball Ontario’s Softball Performance Centres are currently offering development to the Train2Train and Train2Compete stages of Long Term Player Development with plans to add more in future.  All participants will be evaluated in the 1st week at the Softball Performance Centre and will be trained at the level that best suits their needs.

Who can attend the Softball Performance Centre?
  • U14 female/male softball players (born in 2002 or 2003)
  • U16 female/male softball players (born in 2001 or 2000) 
  • U18 female/male softball players (born in 1998 or 1999)
  • U14, U16 and U18 softball coaches 
What is provided at the Softball Performance Centre for U14, U16 and U18 softball players?

Each U14, U16 and U18 softball player will receive the following while at the Softball Performance Centre:

  • A report card identifying their strengths and areas of their game which require improvement based on the benchmarks for an athlete at their given age (U14 or U16) 
  • Softball Performance Centre T-shirt (unisex adult sizes) 
  • U14 or U16 or U18 Players Guide 
  • Dartfish Video 
  • Snacks will be provided both days (Saturday and Sunday)
  • 56 hours of LTPD aligned training
What is provided at the Softball Performance Centre for U14, U16 and U18 softball coaches?

Each U14/U16 softball coach will receive the following will at the Softball Performance Centre:

  • Softball Canada U14 or U16 Coaches Guide or U18 Softball Coaches Resources
  • The opportunity to network with fellow softball coaches 
  • Gain exposure to the developmental pool of Coaches  for the next Team Ontario cycle for Canada Games
  • Snacks will be provided both days (Saturday and Sunday) 
Are the Softball Ontario Softball Performance Centres an opportunity to be evaluated for Team Ontario/Team Canada (female or male)?

The Softball Performance Centre is a training program that is LTPD aligned and is geared to Train2Train softball players (U14/U16) and Train2Compete (U18).  Each Softball Performance Centre has Coaching Staff members from Team Ontario (Female and Male) developing and delivering Stage appropriate training program.  By attending the Softball Performance Centre, softball players will prepare to meet Provincial and National Team standards when Talent ID/Evaluation Camps are hosted.  The Softball Performance Centre program will help take your game to the next level.
