Call for Applications - House League Development Committee Members

TORONTO, ON – Softball Ontario is now accepting applications for three (3) volunteer positions on the House League Development Committee. 

The Softball Ontario’s House League Development Committee promotes the game by focusing on increasing the number of young children participating in grassroots softball programs.

Reporting to the Softball Ontario Board of Directors, the House League Services Committee members will implement programs to assist Local Softball Associations serve their community. Members will be expected to attend all meetings (approximately one (1) in person and (2) conference calls per year) and support/service Softball Ontario’s Female House League Select Provincial Championships. Knowledge of Local Softball Associations and current house league softball experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Have knowledge of and support Softball Ontario and related programs and promote the game of softball in general
  • Attend and provide feedback at a minimum of two committee meetings per year
  • Liaise with ball associations and any other interested organizations
  • Assist Member Services Coordinator in preparing information packages and reports
  • Prepare or obtain articles for Softball Ontario’s Newsletter and other media
  • Promote and provide briefings and presentations to groups, ball associations, schools, parks and recreation department, etc.
  • Take part in House League Community Events (minimum of one (1) per year)
  • Promote the sport of Softball and the House League Services Program in particular
  • Attend and take an active role in the yearly Get in The Game Symposium
  • Will write a minimum of one (1) article for the web site every seven (7) months on a rotational basis as assigned by the Committee Chairperson
