Softball Ontario Volunteer Awards
Volunteer Award
Volunteers are the backbone of Softball Ontario, its programs and services. They donate countless hours and provide expertise in return for out-of-pocket expenses, and maybe ... a thank you. Making volunteers feel essential, valuable and appreciated, is important if sport associations like Softball Ontario wish to continue, because without volunteers a number, if not all, of Softball Ontario's programs would cease to operate.
A simple thank-you letter is one form of volunteer recognition, but
Softball Ontario and the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and
Recreation have developed other ways to recognize individuals who have
made a significant contribution to the development of Softball Ontario,
its programs and/or services. The following outlines Softball Ontario's
and the Ministry's Recognition Programs.
Softball Ontario's Twenty-five Year Service Award A Softball Ontario Gold Pin/Tie Clip with a diamond is awarded to individuals who have contributed twenty-five consecutive years to the Board of Directors or a Committee. The following awards have been presented to date:
2005 - Bob Abbot, Finance Committee and Board of Directors
2005 - Carl Littlejohns, Finance Committee and Board of Directors 2001 - Pat Sparling, Board of Directors 1995 - Bette Kalailieff, Board of Directors Softball Ontario's Twenty Year Service Award A Softball Ontario Gold Pin/Tie Clip with a ruby stone is awarded to individuals who have contributed twenty consecutive years to the Board of Directors or a Committee. The following awards have been presented to date:
2005 - Pat Eldridge, Scorekeeping
2005 - Bill Graham, Scorekeeping 2000 - Bob Abbot, Board of Directors 2000 - Carl Littlejohns, Board of Directors/Finance 1996 - Patricia Sparling, Board of Directors Softball Ontario's Fifteen Year Service Award A Softball Ontario Gold Pin/Tie Clip with a sapphire stone is awarded to individuals who have contributed fifteen consecutive years to the Board of Directors or a Committee.
